What can I learn?

Improve English and maths skills

Whether you want to get a job, gain confidence or help your children with school work, improving your English and maths skills could help you to do it. Learn at a pace and level that’s right for you.

FREE English and maths courses are available if you do not currently hold a level 2 or above in the relevant subject.

In just 4 weeks you could improve key areas of maths and English. You will receive a certificate of attendance and achievement upon successful completion.

Alternatively, our 15-week courses will help you to achieve nationally-recognised qualifications that will make your CV stand out when applying for jobs and give you the confidence to use English and maths at work or in day-to-day life. English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL)

We offer a range of ESOL courses including ESOL conversation, speaking, reading and writing.

Where can I learn?

There are four main adult learning centres around the East Riding and many of our courses are taught in these centres. For more information on the venues, please see the where to find us page.

How much do courses cost?

Course costs vary, depending on the duration and type of course, and your personal circumstances (for example, if you’re on certain benefits or you’re taking a particular qualification).

You can use our Course Finder to search for courses by title, subject or location.

You can also contact your nearest Adult Learning Centre where our friendly staff will be happy to give you more information about courses that interest you.
