Pupil Premium Grant

Explains what the Pupil Premium Grant is and how it works, who qualifies and how the grant benefits those who are eligible.

What is the Pupil Premium Grant?

The Pupil Premium Grant is additional funding on top of the main funding a school receives. It is targeted at children from low income families to ensure that they benefit from the same opportunities as children from families with higher incomes.

How much is it worth?

The school will receive £1300 per year for every eligible child from Reception onwards. From April 2015 they will receive £300 a year for every child in Foundation Stage 1.

How can I find out if my child is eligible?

The grant is paid for every child who receives free school meals. However families may not choose to claim free school meals, but if they have an income below £16,190 then a child is still eligible. By following the link and completing the form you will be told whether or not your child is eligible for both free school meals and the Pupil Premium Grant.

My child is already receiving free school meals, what else do I have to do?

If your child is in Year 3 or above you don’t have to do anything else as the school has the information they need to claim the Pupil Premium Grant.
