What swimming and leisure centre facilities are available in the East Riding?

Detailed below are the facilities that are available in all leisure centres.

There are 11 facilities:

Beverley

East Riding Leisure Beverley is a large facility, with outdoor playing fields and a skate park.  Indoors it boasts an impressive eight lane pool, state-of-the-art gym, sports hall and meeting rooms.

Bridlington

East Riding Leisure Bridlington is situated on the seafront. The new state of the art facility offers a range of different activities including the splash zone and a clip 'n climb, climbing wall

Driffield

East Riding Leisure Driffield Leisure Centre has two pools, a sports hall and a 50 station gym.

Pocklington

East Riding Leisure Francis Scaife in Pocklington has a modern gym, sports hall, swimming pool and exercise classroom, suitable also for meetings.

Goole

East Riding Leisure Goole has a swimming pool with an impressive water slide, function rooms, a sports hall and a newly refurbished gym.

Anlaby

East Riding Leisure Haltemprice is one of the larger facilities situated in Anlaby. It has two pools, a recently updated gym, two sports halls, squash courts and a lot more to come and try.

Hornsea, Withernsea, South Cave and Preston

The four other centres have a range of facilities on offer. East Riding Leisure Hornsea and East Riding Leisure Withernsea are both situated in coastal towns. They offer swimming pools, sports halls and gyms.

East Riding Leisure South Cave is a dryside facility, with a sports hall. East Riding Leisure South Holderness is located in the village of Preston.  It has a range of facilities including pool, gym and sports hall.

What is the Sure Saver Card leisure centre concessionary scheme?

The Sure Saver Card is a concessionary scheme, for those who are eligible, the scheme provides one third off the cost of many standard activities.

What is Passport to Leisure?

Passport to Leisure is a scheme for those under the care of East Riding of Yorkshire council and the local authority offers all Care Leavers a discounted pass for any of the East Riding Of Yorkshire Council Leisure Centres.

This pass will get you 50% off all costs and your worker can make the application for you. For information on the Leisure Centres in East Riding, please visit the East Riding Leisure website.

Are there parking facilities at the leisure centres?

Each leisure centre has parking facilities. These vary from site to site as follows:

  • East Riding Leisure Beverley has a pay and display car park
  • East Riding Leisure Bridlington has a pay and display car park adjacent to the facility
  • East Riding Leisure Driffield has a free car park, with an overspill car park in the school grounds when the school is closed
  • East Riding Leisure Francis Scaife in Pocklington has a free car park
  • East Riding Leisure Goole has a free car park
  • East Riding Leisure Haltemprice has a free car park
  • East Riding Leisure Hornsea has a pay and display car park
  • East Riding Leisure Withernsea has a free car park
  • East Riding Leisure South Cave has a free car park
  • East Riding Leisure South Holderness has a free car park.

What can I do at my local leisure centre?

There is a range of facilities available to use. East Riding Leisure South Cave is a dry activities sports centre. East Riding Leisure South Holderness and East Riding Driffield are located next to schools who use them. It is advisable to contact them before you visit for access to their pools. The rest of the centres are multi-use facilities with both courts and pools.

How do I book a football pitch?

You can book three types of football pitches:

At a leisure centre

All leisure centres have indoor courts and some have outdoor pitches.

Find your local leisure centre and contact reception to book.

At a school

Some schools have grass or all-weather synthetic pitches.

On community land

Many areas of community land within the East Riding (such as Walkington and Little Weighton) are available for use as football pitches.
