Active Coast activities:
Active Coast is about providing opportunities to get active, be healthy and enjoy life on the East Yorkshire coast. A main feature of Active Coast is the exciting Beach Sports programme which includes a vibrant beach volleyball scene with four semi-permanent Go Spike courts free to use. Why not also join in the weekly coaching sessions which will take place every week in the school holidays. So check out what’s on and hit the beach!
Visit the Active Coast page on the Visit Hull & East Riding (VHEY) website
Parkrun is a FREE weekly 5km event for runners/joggers of all standards which takes place every Saturday at 9am at various locations in the East Riding. It offers the opportunity for the local community, male and female, young and old, to come together on a regular basis to enjoy the beautiful grounds and get more active into the bargain!
Parkrun currently takes place at:
- Sewerby Hall and Gardens
- Humber Bridge Country Park
- West Park, Goole
Visit the Sewerby Parkrun (external website) website for more information about how to join in.
Beach Volleyball "Go Spike":
"Go Spike" is a nationwide beach volleyball initiative set up to encourage more people and families to play volleyball and be active on the beaches of the UK
The East Riding has three courts which are free for families to use. They are located on the Bridlington South and Southshore beach (two outside the main foreshore office and one below the Park and Ride).

East Riding PING! - Outdoor Table Tennis:
The East Riding has three outdoor table tennis tables along the coast to encourage more people to be active as part of the London 2012 legacy.
The tables are located on Bridlington South Beach (2 tables) and one at Sewerby Hall and Gardens.
Bring your own bats and balls or hire them on site... challenge your family or friends to a bit of outdoor ping pong!

This year we had over 1400 people attend our days at Burden Road playing Field in Beverley, West Park in Goole, Queensgate Park in Bridlington and Hallgarth Park in Hornsea.
The fun days are advertised on the School's Out page - please check back next summer for dates!
The Beach Sports Festival is an annual event that takes place at the end of July each year. It is part of the London 2012 legacy programme.
