During the ceremony

Information on who conducts the ceremony, how its put together, how long will it last, will you receive a certificate, do you sign an official register.

Who will conduct the ceremony?

Our professionally trained celebrants who are also registrars will conduct the ceremony.

Unlike some unregulated independent celebrants our naming ceremonies are delivered by highly trained professional staff whose performance is monitored and regularly assessed. Our professional team have been accredited with a number of national awards and aim to deliver a quality bespoke service.

How is the ceremony put together?

The celebrant will work closely with you, to discuss the options that are available and will tailor these to their personal requirements. The ceremony may contain non-religious words, poems and/or readings that hold a special meaning to them. It may also include the giving of gifts. Parent(s) may choose up to four supporting adults who will offer guidance and support to the children throughout life.

How long will the ceremony last?

It is usual for a ceremony to last anywhere between 15 and 30 minutes, depending on the available choices which are to be included.

Will we receive a certificate?

Yes, a commemorative certificate is signed during your ceremony. You may also purchase additional certificates such as supporting adult promises and grandparents' promises. These can be purchased from our main office in Beverley.

Do the parents sign an official register?

No, as this ceremony has no legal status, a register is not signed. The ceremony does include the signing of a commemorative certificate by the parents and the chosen supporting adults. This certificate is then presented to the parents to commemorate this very special event. A personalised script of the ceremony is also available.
