About the centre
Beverley Children’s Centre is part of a family centre in the town of Beverley, serving central Beverley andsurrounding villages. The friendly, passionate and knowledgeable staff team work alongside colleagues from Midwifery and Health Visiting to provide a range of activities and services for children and their parents or carers, grandparents or childminders from pregnancy to age 9.We have recently achieved the Gold Standard Baby Friendly Accreditation which enables us to better support families with feeding and developing close, loving relationships with their babies.
Parking
Limited car parking available, including disabled/accessible car parking spaces, to the front of the site in the shared car park with the Hexagon Music Centre. Nearby on street parking (please ensure you are considerate when parking, not blocking any access points for local residents).
Facilities
  • Four spacious multipurpose rooms, all family-friendly and comfortable with a large selection of resources available with access to secure outdoor spaces. Some of the rooms have access to kitchen areas to support with preparation for messy play activities or snack time.
  • There is also a sensory room environment which is bookable, free of charge.
  • Clothes swap is available for families to donate unwanted children’s clothes and also take clothes from the selection available, which is free to access.
  • Take and Make home learning craft resources are available to purchase from the children’s centre as well and at very reasonable low cost.
  • Baby changing facilities are available throughout the building.
  • Comfortable breast feeding and infant feeding facilities.
Accessibility
The whole of the site is on ground level and accessible for the vast majority of users. Wherever reasonably practicable all rooms can be set up and used flexibly in order to accommodate individual needs. There is an accessible toilet and the main entrance door to the reception has a low level automatic push button operation.
Is the centre part of the SEND Local Offer?
Additional information
Beverley Children’s Centre also offers some services in outreach locations such as local village halls (see our events page for further detail). The children’s centre shares the site with the local safeguarding team, CAMHs, as well as midwives and health visitors offering their services from the centre too. The local Adult Education Centre, Hexagon Music Centre and the Humber NHS Coltman Avenue Clinic are situated next door to the children’s centre.
