About the centre
Hornsea Children’s Centre services are based at Hornsea Secondary School and has been serving the community and surrounding villages since 2008. The friendly, passionate and knowledgeable staff team work alongside colleagues from Midwifery and Health Visiting to provide a range of activities and services for children and their parents or carers, grandparents or childminders from pregnancy to age 9.We have recently achieved the Gold Standard Baby Friendly Accreditation which enables us to better support families with feeding and developing close, loving relationships with their babies.
Parking
There is on-site parking, outside the Centre. You can access the site by car using the Atwick Road (B1242) entrance or the front Eastgate entrance on foot.
Facilities
  • Ladybird Room-a large playroom, with a wide variety of toys and books, which leads to an outside decking area and a spacious garden.
  • Butterfly Room - This room can be booked by parents for a sensory session.
  • A large playroom with sensory equipment and soft play, which also leads to the outside decking and garden.
  • Caterpillar Kitchen -a large kitchen accessible from both playrooms, available for cooking sessions
  • Take and Make home learning craft resources are available to purchase from the children’s centre as well and at very reasonable low cost.
  • Free Wi-Fi available throughout the Centre.
  • Baby changing facilities are available throughout the building.
  • Comfortable breast feeding and infant feeding facilities.
Accessibility
Disabled AccessThere is an access ramp up to the Children’s Centre and we have disabled toilets, as well as large double doors into both playrooms and the outside areas.
