About the centre
Withernsea is a seaside resort town and the Children’s Centre is at the heart of the community as well as a focal point for a wider community of smaller villages.The friendly, passionate and knowledgeable staff team work alongside colleagues from Midwifery and Health Visiting to provide a range of activities and services for children and their parents or carers, grandparents or childminders from pregnancy to age 9.We have recently achieved the Gold Standard Baby Friendly Accreditation which enables us to better support families with feeding and developing close, loving relationships with their babies.

  • Clothes swap - You can donate your unwanted children’s clothes, members of staff then carefully sort and display the items given, and you are welcome to take any items of clothing you would like free of charge.
  • Take and Make - a large selection of home learning resources on which are available to purchase at a very reasonable prices. The staff are very creative and you can buy ready-made bags of resources with seasonal items to make and do with your children.

Accessibility
All our rooms are situated on the ground floor and are accessible for the vast majority of users. Adjustments may be made to our rooms to allow for individual requirements and differing needs.There is a disabled toilet on site.

Here at the Centre we have experienced qualified staff that can provide tailored 1:1 support to you and your family in different ways.Withernsea Children’s Centre has achieved the Portage Stamp of Approval giving the staff the confidence and skills to fully include children with SEND and to support you as families.You will also find our services in outreach locations in our local villages.Please see our events page for further details of what is happening at Withernsea Children’s Centre.Our Children’s Centre brings services together and located on site are Midwives and Health Visitors offering their services from our centre and the Domestic Violence and Abuse partnership team.
