What kind of support is available to young people and their families?

The Youth and Family Support (YFS) services provide help and advice for young people and their families who are experiencing problems or require support with:

  • emotional health
  • mental health
  • wellbeing
  • behaviour and aggression
  • drugs or alcohol
  • family relationships
  • school attendance
  • bereavement and separation
  • youth counselling

The early help and prevention service works with children and families 0 to 19 years (or 25 with special educational needs and disability (SEND) across the whole of the East Riding of Yorkshire..

What other services are available for young people and their families?

Family Information Service Hub (FISH)

The FISH team operates a friendly helpline offering free, impartial information for young people, parents and carers and professionals who have a role in supporting families.

FISH is a 'one-stop-shop' where you can get details of services in the East Riding for children and young people aged 0-20 years.

East Riding Local Offer

The Local Offer provides information on support and provision available for children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities from 0-25 years.

Local Offer aims to make clear the options that are available at a community level right through to specialist and targeted services for children and young people with more complex needs:
