Domestic abuse

Domestic abuse can happen to anyone, regardless of age, gender, sexuality, race, or background. It can be committed by a partner or ex-partner, or family member, in an existing or previous relationship.

The DVAP Service

The Domestic Violence and Abuse Partnership (DVAP) service offers confidential support to anyone living with, or fleeing from, domestic violence and abuse in the East Riding. We also help anyone who wants to change their abusive behaviour.

We provide advice for practitioners and other professionals, to help them understand how to recognise domestic abuse and how to make referrals to the Domestic Violence and Abuse Partnership (DVAP) service.

Lived Experience Network

The Lived Experience Network network makes sure that authentic voices are central in the delivery of services. It aims to make continued improvements across all services, to prevent domestic abuse, and provide effective support and protection. It also assists in long-term recovery and moving forward. Please get in touch if you'd like to get involved in shaping services and strategies.

To directly access DVAP support and services you can call us, visit a customer service centre, or fill in our self-referral form.

If you are a professional, such as a GP or social worker, fill in our practitioner referrals form to refer a client to us.

The Strategic Domestic Abuse Board

Find out more about the Strategic Domestic Abuse Board, a partnership of leaders from organisations, including the voluntary sector, who commission domestic abuse services. The Board produces the East Riding Domestic Abuse Strategy, and serves to develop effective domestic abuse services across the region.
