Students across the East Riding are today, Thursday 15 August, receiving their A-Level results.

Early result indications suggest that students have performed well compared to regional and national averages.

Councillor Victoria Aitken, cabinet member for children, families and education said: "Best of luck to all students receiving their results today!

"I hope our students achieve the grades they hope for, and I wish our young people lots of success in their futures, either in further education, training or into their chosen career.

"Thank you to the dedication and hard work of the wonderful teachers for the support they give to students to help them achieve their full potential.”

Gavin Chappell, Headteacher at Beverley Grammar and Sharon Japp, Headteacher of Beverley High School said: "We are extremely proud of our Beverley J6 students for their fantastic achievements. Great to see them get the grades they need to access the university or apprenticeship of their choice."

Kate Parker-Randall, Headteacher of Bridlington School expressed the school’s pride in the students' achievements: "This year's A-Level and BTEC results are a true reflection of the hard work, perseverance, and determination of our students. I would like to thank our dedicated staff who have provided exceptional support and guidance throughout the year. We are thrilled to see so many of our students moving on to the next stage of their lives with confidence and a strong foundation for future success.

David Perry, Headteacher of Longcroft School, said: “I’m grateful to the staff and parents who have worked hard to support our students through the significant demands of post 16 study.  We are incredibly proud of our young people and remain focused on ensuring they recognise and realise their extraordinary potential and have the belief and confidence to succeed in a complex and rapidly evolving world.”

Eve who is going to read Landscape Architecture achieved a suite of top grades including at the coveted A*. On receiving her results she commented, "I really wasn't expecting to do as well as I have – I am actually shaking. I've chosen to study Landscape Architecture as Geography is my favourite subject and it is closely linked. I'd like to thank all of my teachers for all of their hard work over the years for helping me achieve so well at A-Level.”

Headlands School, Bridlington said: "Congratulations to all of our Headlands School Sixth Form students on making it through an incredibly rigorous two years.

"Everyone here at Headlands School is very proud of you. You have secured some truly inspiring academic A’ Level results.  25 percent of our students secured A* - A grades - absolutely brilliant!  And nearly 70 percent of students secured A* - B grades.  We are absolutely delighted for them - their hard work and dedication has paid off."

Hornsea School Headteacher, Steve Ostler said: “We would like to congratulate all of our young people on their fantastic results, which will enable them to move on to the next chapter of their lives with confidence, and in the full knowledge that they can certainly do it!”

The Key Stage 5 league tables will be published by the Department for Education in January 2025. This will include attainment and progress measures for A-levels and for other level 3 vocational qualifications such as BTECs and diplomas.
