Tuesday, 17 March 2026

Market Weighton business centre has marked 20 years of helping businesses across the East Riding, providing flexible office and workshop space and professional facilities for a diverse range of organisations.

Since opening its doors, the centre has become home to businesses from a variety of sectors, including professional services, logistics and event services, offering modern office space, meeting facilities and a supportive environment designed to help companies thrive.

To mark the milestone, the Business Centre hosted a special anniversary gathering bringing together current and former tenants, as well as past staff members, to celebrate two decades of business success and community. The event was also attended by Ward Councillors Paul West and Derek Carey, who joined tenants and staff in recognising the centre's contribution to East Riding businesses.

Cllr Anne Handley, East Riding of Yorkshire Council leader said:" Market Weighton Business Centre has played an important role in supporting local businesses over the past 20 years. It's fantastic to see the centre now at full occupancy, with companies from a range of sectors choosing to base themselves here. Spaces like this help businesses grow, create local jobs and contribute to a thriving local economy."

The celebration concluded with a commemorative tree planting by Pinnacle Marquees (UK) Ltd, the centre's longest-standing tenant. The tree was planted in memory of Janette Jowett, recognising her contribution and connection to the Business Centre.

East Riding of Yorkshire Council provides business accommodation at facilities across the East Riding, including in Market Weighton.  The centres offer office and workshop space for start-ups, and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), on flexible lease terms.
