Recruitment drive launches for East Riding Leisure Goole

Monday, 3 August 2026

East Riding of Yorkshire Council has launched a recruitment campaign to build the team that will welcome customers back to the much-anticipated East Riding Leisure Goole.

A range of new job opportunities across management, customer service, fitness, swimming and cleaning roles are available, as the facility prepares to reopen in late 2026.

The recruitment drive marks a significant milestone in the reopening programme as the new centre moves closer to welcoming its first customers. Recruiting key operational staff well in advance of opening will help ensure teams are in place, trained and ready ahead of launch.

Councillor Nick Coultish, East Riding of Yorkshire Council's Cabinet Member for Culture, Leisure and Tourism, said: "The reopening of East Riding Leisure Goole is one of the most eagerly anticipated developments for the town, and this recruitment campaign is a strong indication that we are moving ever closer to welcoming residents through the doors.”

Current vacancies include:

  • Duty Manager (£17,619 to £18,215 pro rata) - 20 hours per week. Closing date: 9 August.
  • Receptionist (£13,915 to £14,136 pro rata) - 19.5 hours per week. Closing date: 9 August.
  • Cleaner (£24,796) - five posts available. Closing date: 11 August.
  • Swimming Teacher (£15.06 to £15.31 per hour) - permanent, rota-based hours. Closing date: 6 September.
  • Customer Service Assistant (Wet) / Lifeguard (£26,403 to £26,824) - full-time and part-time opportunities, with nine posts available. Closing date: 6 September.
  • Group Exercise Instructor (£15.06 to £15.31 per hour) - six hours per week. Closing date: 30 August.

Casual applications will be considered for the above roles.

The recruitment campaign represents the first phase of staffing for the centre. Further recruitment is expected in the coming months, including roles to support the centre's café, soft play and bowling facilities. These positions are expected to include Catering Supervisors, Café Assistants and Dryside Attendants.
