£68,000 road safety improvement scheme for Riplingham near South Cave

Wednesday, 4 February 2026

A road safety improvement scheme is to get underway this month in Riplingham, near South Cave.

East Riding of Yorkshire Council is to invest £68,000 to upgrade the Westoby Lane/Comberdale Hill crossroads, which is due to start on Monday 16 February and take up to three weeks to complete.

The project will include improvements to both junctions, with works involving kerbing, haunching and resurfacing works.

During the construction, temporary four-way traffic lights will be in operation, followed by a two-day closure for the resurfacing of the road.

Traffic will be diverted via White Gap Lane, Rowley Road and Beverley Road.

While the road is closed, access will be given to properties within the work area.

The scheme will be carried out by the council’s own road maintenance team.

Councillor Paul West, the council’s cabinet member for environment and transport, said: “Thanks in advance to local residents and drivers for bearing with us while we carry out essential work to improve this road in Riplingham.”
