Local development scheme

Information about what the local development scheme is, which documents are included, and what the timescale for completion is.

What is the Local Development Scheme (LDS)?

The Local Development Scheme (LDS) sets out the documents we will prepare as part of the Local Plan over the next 3 years.

Our LDS provides the community and other partners with information on the different Local Plan documents for the area, as well as the timescale, the associated work programmes, budgeting and resources required to produce each document.

An LDS Update for the period 2025-2028 was published on 6 March 2025. This update follows a new National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF) published on 12th December 2024 and a request from the Deputy Prime Minister that all local planning authorities produce an updated LDS by 6th March 2025.

See below for the latest timetable for completing the various documents of the Local Plan.
