Sewerby Squirrels sessions will take place throughout October at the Orangery at Sewerby Hall and Gardens, held for under 5s and their grown-ups on Mondays during term time, from 10-11.30am.

Sessions are based on seasonal events, Edwardian life and Sewerby Hall exhibits, and all include books to read, a sensory area and a quiet corner – plus themed activities.

On Monday, 7 October, the Edwardian Kitchen session allows visitors to have a go at using a jelly mould, play with bread dough and get messy with flour.

Monday, 14 October will be a sea-themed craft session where participants will be able to make their very own paper plate jellyfish to take home, as well as enjoying sea-themed play.

The last session of the month – Garden Explorers – takes place on Monday, 21 October, where participants can enjoy garden-themed activities and also explore outside in the grounds. This session’s seasonal theme is colours, and the team of explorers leave the Orangery together at 10.30am – so remember to dress for the weather!

Each session is £2 per child (aged three years and older, including one adult) however under 3s go free. Annual pass holders for Sewerby Hall and Gardens can attend for free. Admission counters (including counters required for under 3s) are available from the Welcome Centre on the day, and payment can be taken on collection where applicable.
