Almost 1,000 East Riding households have so far opted to switch energy supplier in the latest YORSwitch round before the deadline at midnight on Tuesday, 24 March.
Since 2013, YORSwitch has switched more than 30,000 households and delivered more than £6.3million savings for East Riding residents.
In the latest round, personal offers have been issued to more than 5,000 households that have registered an interest and have until the 24 March deadline to switch. The average saving this time around is £275 per household so residents are encouraged to make the saving.
And households have the opportunity to make a green option as one of the winning suppliers provides energy "that's good for the planet".
Octopus Energy has, since 2016, supplied renewable energy, picking up an average of 30,000 customers a month and currently providing to 1.2million UK homes. After the auction, it will supply dual fuel (via online billing) to households wishing to switch.
Residents looking for additional support before the March switching deadline can attend any one of the number of support sessions this month to discuss the benefits from the scheme and find out if savings can be made on energy bills. The sessions are at:
Brough Petuaria Centre - Wednesday, 11 March, 9.30am-12noon
