As part of its £12m capital programme of carriageway maintenance works, East Riding of Yorkshire Council intend to undertake carriageway resurfacing and footway resurfacing works costing £650,000 along the C19 between the A614, Main Street, Burton Agnes junction and Kelk Lane Junction near Gransmoor.
The works are scheduled to start on Monday, 24 May, 2021 and are expected to take five weeks to complete (weather permitting).
The council's contractor, Britcon (UK) Ltd, will be carrying out the works between 8.00am and 5.00pm (Monday-Friday). Due to the nature of the works, the carriageway will be closed to through traffic for the duration of the works. A signed diversion route will be via A614, Main Street - A165, Bridlington Bay Road - A165, Bridlington Road - C19, Fisher Lane - C19, Gransmoor Road.
Access will be maintained for residents, business owners and emergency services; however, delays are to be expected through the sites during the working hours.
The existing carriageway surface will be recycled (3300 tonnes of hazardous asphalt planings will be re-used instead of being disposed off-site), making the scheme cost-effective and reducing the impact on the environment.
An East Riding of Yorkshire Council spokesperson said : "The council would like to apologise for any disruption caused by these essential works and ask motorists and residents to bear with us whilst they are completed."
The council will consult with local businesses and residents affected by the works in advance.
