Major new extension at East Riding Leisure Haltemprice opens on Monday (4 October)

Wed, 29 Sep 2021

The new £2.2 million redevelopment at East Riding Leisure Haltemprice will officially open on Monday, 4 October, 2021.

Offering a fantastic workout space with extended gym areas, dedicated Group X exercise studio and new consultation rooms, the new extension will offer unrivalled space to help customers get the most out of their workout session.

The 100 station gym will also have the newest, state-of-the-art Matrix strength and cardiovascular kit technology, offering an enhanced and accessible workout.

The extension also houses new toilet facilities, and there are also more car parking spaces.

The works were designed and managed by the council's in-house Building Design Group and procured via the YORhub suite of construction frameworks, and were carried out by local contractor Hobson and Porter Ltd.

With the opening of the extension, East Riding Leisure Haltemprice will return to its full sports hall programme, and will welcome clubs and activities back in October.

There will be a special preview event on Sunday 3 October, from 10am - 3pm including free tours of the new facilities, demonstrations of the new equipment and staff on hand to answer any queries.

There is also a time-limited exclusive membership offer of 50% off for the first three months - but this is only available until 14 October and is only available on site.

Councillor Mike Medini, portfolio holder for cultural and leisure assets, said: "This extension and redevelopment at East Riding Leisure Haltemprice is great news for our customers, and I am delighted to see the completion and official opening. The new extension will offer superb workout facilities for our members and customers, and I know it will prove hugely popular."
