‘Sewerby Squirrels’ – held at Sewerby Hall and Gardens for under fives and their families - is held in the Orangery on Mondays from 10am -11.30am, during East Riding term-time, and sessions will start again on Monday, 3 September.

All the sessions feature themed activities for Under 5s, based on seasonal events, Edwardian life, and exhibits which are on display at Sewerby Hall. Each session includes books to read, a sensory area and quiet corner.

The session on Monday, 3 September will feature an Amy Johnson-themed craft, with a chance to make a paper helicopter.

On Monday, 10 September, the theme will be Beach Explorers, with wet and dry sand play, and dressing up.

The following week, Monday 17 September, will feature Edwardian cleaning – the Squirrels will use a dolly tub, beat a carpet, polish brass and play with bubbles (if the weather is suitable).

Monday, 24 September will see a garden-themed craft – the Squirrels will make a big garden picture together.

Lucy Cooke, under fives learning co-ordinator, said : “I am really looking forward to another programme of exciting fun events for our young Sewerby Squirrels and their families. Once again, we have planned lots of varied activities for them to take part in over the coming weeks and months.”

The sessions are included in normal admission prices for Sewerby Hall and Gardens whilst they apply.
