As part of the Active Coast 2018 programme, a new feature this year is ‘Cover the Coast ‘ – circular walks exploring the full East Yorkshire coast in manageable sections.
The walks include the area’s key coastal villages, towns, beaches, and countryside, and a range of spectacular locations, and range from five to 12 miles in length.
The programme of walks takes place on Fridays, and the latest walk in the series will be on 7 September with a 9.5 mile walk from Bridlington South Cliff to Barmston. The walk takes in the medieval villages of Hilderthorpe, Wilsthorpe, Hartburn, and Auburn and will be a chance to explore a landscape moulded by the erosion of ice and sea.
The walk will start at 10am. Walkers need to bring food, water, waterproofs and suitable footwear.
Booking is essential, although the walk is free of charge, and can be done online at www.activecoast.org or by calling 01482 395320.
