National Customer Service Week was embraced by East Riding of Yorkshire Council’s director of Adults, Health and Customer Services with managers at all levels who took the opportunity to experience the directorate services in the ‘shoes of the customer’.

The national week, from 1-5 October, was used to gauge what the customer experience is like and to listen and understand the challenges or opportunities on the front line as well as identify areas for consideration to improve services.

Managers across the directorate from Public Health, Adult Social Care, Business Management and Commissioning and Culture and Customer Services took part in this important week for customer service.

John Skidmore, director of adults, health and customer services at the council, said: “It was a great opportunity on the back of Customer Service Week for managers at all levels to spend some time experiencing our services in the ‘shoes of our residents and customers’, as well as listening to and understanding the challenges faced by our incredible staff that do a great job - not just during this week - but all year round.”

East Riding residents are encouraged to use their local Customer Service Centres for advice, support and information.
