Sewerby Hall and Gardens has created an exciting programme of events for Hallowe’en and half term, to keep children and families of all ages entertained throughout the period and to reflect both Hallowe’en and the run-up to Bonfire Night.
From Saturday, 20 October right through until Friday, 2 November, there will be a Hallowe’en Trail for children to follow in the house and gardens.
Activities get into full swing with Hallowe’en Face Painting on Monday, 29 October, from 11.30am – 4pm.
The following day, Tuesday 30 October, will see Pumpkin Carving between 12 noon and 1.30pm – advance booking will be required for this event, and tickets will cost £5 per child (ages 8 plus) plus accompanying adult. Booking will be via the website.
On Hallowe’en itself, Wednesday 31 October, there will be a Rusticus Adventure : ‘Hallowe’en’ at 11.30am, 1pm, and 2.30pm; and Witch Crafts and Potions between 11.30am and 3pm.
On Thursday, 1 November, there will be Bonfire Archery for ages 8 plus, from 12 noon – 3pm, and XPLORER orienteering from 12 noon – 3pm.
Friday, 2 November will include the chance to join in aBonfire Crafts session from 11.30am – 3pm.
All the way through from Saturday, 3 November to Sunday, 11 November, young visitors will be able to follow a Guy Fawkes Trail in the house and gardens. There will also be self-led Bonfire Activities on the weekend of Saturday, 3 and Sunday, 4 November, from 11.30am – 3pm.
The period will also include concerts in the Orangery, and regular activities such as Sewerby Squirrels, exciting new zoo activities, and a Craft Fair on Sunday, 28 October.
All these activities (except the pumpkin carving) are free of charge, but normal admission charges to Sewerby Hall and Gardens apply.
