The new Hedon Centre opens on Monday (14 January)

East Riding of Yorkshire Council is reminding customers that the new Hedon Centre at 31 St Augustine Gate, Hedon, will open to the public on Monday, 14 January, and on that day will be open from 9:30 am to 1:30pm.

The new centre, designed by the council’s in-house building design group, will provide a fully integrated library and customer service centre at St Augustine’s Gate, allowing the council to provide a one-stop-shop to consolidate and improve a number of local services under one roof.

Councillor Richard Burton, portfolio holder for leisure, tourism and culture, said: “I am delighted that we are now able to open the new Hedon Centre, and I know that library and customer service centre customers will appreciate the benefits offered by this superb new facility.”

Councillor Shaun Horton, portfolio holder for community involvement and council corporate services, added : “Hedon is the latest in our very successful new-style customer service centres and libraries, which have proved so popular across the East Riding. I would like to thank our customers in Hedon for their patience during the temporary arrangements in recent months.”

Until the reopening, the nearest alternative libraries and customer service centres are at The Hessle Centre in Southgate, Hessle and The Withernsea Centre in Queen Street, Withernsea. Customers can return books to any East Riding library or renew online atwww.eastriding.gov.uk/catalogue. Customer enquiries and payments can also be made via the web atwww.eastriding.gov.ukor by ringing 01482 393939. In addition payments can also be made at any post office or PayPoint outlet.
