Crime prevention event for Withernsea residents

Tue, 08 Jan 2019

People in Withernsea concerned about crime and anti-social behaviour are invited to a crime prevention event to hear what measures are to be put in place to tackle it.

The event, which will take place in the town on Saturday, 19 January, will involve officers from East Riding of Yorkshire Council, Humberside Police and co-ordinators from Withernsea neighbourhood watch.

Those attending the event will find out how the council and police work together to deal with crime and anti-social behaviour as well as the opportunity for people to join their local neighbourhood watch group.

There will also be the chance for residents to sign up for the new police communication system, My Community Alert, as well as having valuables registered on the Immobilise database.

The event at the Meridian Centre, which is based on Queen Street, will take place between 10am and 12.30pm and is open to all residents.
