East Riding of Yorkshire Council’s countryside access team has arranged two hedgelaying conservation events as part of its 2019 programme.
Hedgelaying Conservation Days atDanes Dyke Local Nature Reserveon Saturday, 26 January (and repeated on Saturday, 9 February) will be a chance to learn new skills and practice the old art of hedgelaying. Participants will learn how to lay a hedge and at the same time recreate an excellent habitat for wildlife on this coastal reserve for years to come.
Booking is essential for the events, which run from 10 am -3pm on both dates (though people can stay as long as they wish between those times). The events are free and are suitable for adults; young people aged 16-18 can attend if accompanied by an adult.
