‘Sewerby Squirrels’ – held at Sewerby Hall and Gardens for under fives and their families - is held in the Orangery on Mondays from 10am -11.30am, during East Riding term-time, and there are more sessions in February.

All the sessions feature themed activities for Under 5s, based on seasonal events, Edwardian life, and exhibits which are on display at Sewerby Hall. Each session includes books to read, a sensory area and quiet corner.

The session on Monday, 4 February will look at Amy Johnson-themed craft, with a chance to decorate a big aeroplane together. Participants are advised to bring a change of clothes with them as this will include painting and sticking.

On Monday, 11 February, the theme will be Beach Explorers, an opportunity to enjoy sand play and get dressed up. Again, a change of clothes is advisable.

There will be no session on 18 February (half term) and on Monday, 25 February, the activity will be Edwardian Cleaning, when the Squirrels will use a dolly tub, beat a carpet, polish brass and play with bubbles (depending on the weather).
