As part of Active Coast 2019, a new-look Cover the Coast programme will offer exciting monthly outdoor coastal activities for adults, including a range of walks.
The Cover the Coast sessions will take place in some of the spectacular locations on our coastline.
The second session will be on Friday, 1 March, from 10am to 12 noon, and will cover Withernsea Past and Present, a thought-provoking walk around the town and seafront, finding about its history and the changes it has undergone.
Meet at East Riding Leisure Withernsea car park (HU19 2QA).
Booking is essential, via:
Other Cover the Coast events will include rockpooling; cliffs and caves; and friction fire lighting.
Councillor Richard Burton, portfolio holder for leisure, tourism and culture, said: “Cover the Coast proved very popular in 2018, but we have decided to tweak the programme this year to offer activities as well as just walks. I hope that the range of activities on offer will prove just as popular in 2019.”
There will also be two led Headlands Way walks, covering the route from Bridlington to Bempton, on Friday, 5 July, and Bempton to Filey on Friday, 2 August. Details of how to book, prices, and transport can be found at www.activecoast.org together with details of all the Cover the Coast sessions.
