Carriageway maintenance works at Newgate Street and Priory Road, Cottingham

Thu, 21 Mar 2019

East Riding of Yorkshire Council will be carrying out carriageway maintenance along Newgate Street and Priory Road in Cottingham for four weeks from Monday, 25 March 2019. The work on Newgate Street will run from number 40 and the junction at Snuff Mill Lane and will include the mini-roundabout at Priory Road.

In order to minimise disruption to traffic, working hours will be between 6-11pm, Monday to Friday. The road will remain open either side of these times.

Access will be maintained to residents and emergency services at all times with a signed diversion route in place for the duration of the work. Parking will be restricted between 6-11pm to allow for the safe access for construction traffic.

The works consist of resurfacing the carriageway along with drainage and kerbing repairs which will be done by contractors Tarmac Trading Limited and is part of the East Riding of Yorkshire’s road resurfacing programme of work.

Dave Waudby, head of infrastructure and facilities at East Riding of Yorkshire Council, said: “We have scheduled this work to be carried out at a time which will avoid major delays and disruption.

“We are aware that this is a busy area of works and this is why we are putting up diversion signs and allowing access to residents and emergency services. We would like to thank motorists for their patience while this work is carried out.”
