Local writer Mike Wilson will be giving a talk at North Bridlington Library on Tuesday, 14 May at 2pm.
He will be talking about his latest book ‘Farewell Etaoin’, which tells his story as the last apprentice with the ‘Bridlington Chronicle’ in 1952.
Librarian Paul Hughes said : “This is Mike's 25th title with a local flavour! I am looking forward to hearing of his "strange" adventures as the last apprentice with ”Bridlington Chronicle” back in 1952, his journeys "darn sarf’" to seek his fortune in both Maidenhead and Aylesbury, and his return to Yorkshire to work at the “Driffield Times.” This is not only a personal story, but also the tale of how newspaper production changed from old fashioned printing techniques to the ‘cut-and-paste’ newspaper production of today.”
The event is free, and there is no need to book in advance.
