A road and footpath improvement scheme is to get underway in Kirk Ella.
East Riding of Yorkshire Council is to invest £350,000 to overhaul road and path surfaces along Mill Lane, in the Haltemprice village.
The project is due to start on Monday 26 October and is scheduled to last around eight weeks, weather depending.
The works will include resurfacing the road, drainage repairs, kerb replacements, as well as upgrades to pavements and pedestrian crossings.
The works will be spilt in two phases.
In phase one, work will be carried out between West Ella Road and South Ella Way, starting on Monday 26 October and is due to last four weeks.
The scheme has been timed to coincide with the school half-term holiday as a full road closure is needed.
When schools reopen the following week, the work will be restricted to between 9.15am and 3.15am Monday to Friday, while the team works near Kirk Ella St Andrew’s Community Primary School, as will the road closure.
Phase two is due to begin on Wednesday 18 November and will be carried out between South Ella Way and Woodland Drive.
The work is expected to take four weeks and there will be a full road closure, 24 hours a day.
During the scheme, signed diversion routes will be in place.
Access will be maintained to residents, businesses, bin collections and emergency services where possible.
For changes to bus services please visit East Yorkshire Buses' website for information. Notices will also be placed on the affected bus stops.
The work will be carried out on behalf of the council by contractor PBS Construction (NE) Ltd.
Councillor Paul West, the council's cabinet member for environment and transport, said: "Thank you in advance to residents, drivers and businesses for bearing with us while we carry out these improvements to this road."
